Happy Australia Day!

January 31st, 2008

I hope you all had a lovely long weekend. Wasn’t it so wonderfully sunny and warm? It was the perfect midsummer weekend weather. On Saturday and Sunday I flew along to lots of fairy birthday parties. I had another special fairy party to fly along to on Monday. After my last fairy party had finished I flew back home to join some of my fairy friends for a special Australia day barbeque. It was such fun!

All the little Australian bush flower fairies were there to celebrate. Fairy Wattleblossom bought some yummy food for us. Delicious macadamia nut biscuits and mango pavlova. She even bought a bucketful of fat little wittichy grubs for Spotty my pet dragon. He gobbled them all up and thought they were delicious. They looked a little squirmy for me though.

At the end of the day I tucked my baby dragon Spotty in to bed and we read one of our favourite Australian story books, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie by May Gibbs. Have you read this book? It contains three wonderful stories, all full of adventure about all the the little flower fairies that live in the Australia. You can visit May Gibb’s website here and learn all about her wonderful work.

What a magical Australian Day weekend it was! I hope you all enjoyed yours too.

A brand new flower fairy garland.

January 25th, 2008

I went along to the fairy market today and bought myself a beautiful new flower fairy garland.
It has been hand made by the fairy queen herself using fresh fabric flowers plucked from her garden and set on a sparkly, ring of stars. I choose one with beautiful purple and lilac blossoms to match my purple dress. It has gorgeous sprigs of ivy popping up all around it too.

I think it will be just the thing to wear to all the lovely fairy parties I get invited to.

How does it look?

Happy New Year!

January 2nd, 2008

I hope all your fairies and friends had a fantastic end to the year. Fairyland is simply buzzing with excitement that the year has ended and a brand new year full of excitement, possibilites and lots and lots of fairy parties has begun.

Have any of you made any New Years resolutions? My resolution are . .

1. To learn lots of new magic spells. I am trying to work on an invisibility spell but have so far only managed to make my toes dissappear.

2. To take flying lessons. I have known how to fly since I was just a baby fairy but I do need a little improvement. The other day I was swept along by a gust of wind and ended up crashing into a hedge.

and most importantly

3. To continue fluttering along to fairy parties around Melbourne granting as many magical birthday wishes as possible.

I hope 2008 is a fairy fantastic year for you all!

Wishing you all a Fairy Merry Christmas

December 27th, 2007

All the fairies in Fairyland have had such a wonderful Christmas and I hope you all have too.

I had invited a lot of my friends over for a Christmas lunch. It was lovely to have my little fairy house full to the brim with so many fairies and magical creatures. Everyone bought their own little bit of magic to the party. The flowers fairies bought some delicious home baked garden treats including honey cakes with lemon blossom butter. The starlight fairies bought some of their sparkliest stardust to decorate my Christmas tree with. The pixies bought along homemade Christmas Crackers full of cheeky prizes and silly jokes and the witches and wizards bought enchanted broomsticks to tidy up all the mess at the end of the day.
